Winemaker Killed In Explosion - Trevor Drayton

Expert Winemaker Trevor Drayton, son of Max Drayton owner of Drayton's Family Wines died in a freak explosion yesterday. Sparks caused by welding reportedly ignited ethanol fumes, causing a huge explosion which killed two people.

Drayton's Family Wines Max Drayon was awarded an Order Of Australia medal for his contribution to the wine industry. The family have been in Wine since 1853 and currently operate three wineries in the area.

The family had previously been touched by tragedy, Max's brother Reg Drayton and his wife Pam were killed in an air disaster in 1994.
